Our passion for loving animals has been life long.  Our kennel name "JOVAN  "has it's Roots to when we bred Persian and Exotic Shorthair Cats in the 80's and early 90's. We frequented CFA cats shows all over the nation ending our Cat Fancy fame with CFA's Best Cat , and Best Kitten.

 Following is an excerpt from the CFA  website "When Cheryl and Bob Lorditch, Jovan Cattery, began using their lovely Persians to breed Exotics, no one could possibly have imagined the impact that they would have on the breed. What they did for the breed was astounding. They lead the list in number of grands produced, have eight national winners and gave the Exotic worldwide recognition. In 1991, GC, NW Jovan the Legend was CFA's Cat of the Year. This is an honor many breeds have yet to attain. The following year, GC, NW Jovan Cheers was CFA's Best Kitten. The Jovan "look" is a hallmark for us all. " It was a tough decision to make the transition from cats to dogs as the spotlight is hard to ignore, but  at least now I have only one litter pan to clean. Dog's are just better companions and more loving. We had done all we could achieve breeding cats, and some of the fun and challenge was gone.

In 1992 our affections turned to the dogs after seeing a English Toy Spaniel on the cover of Dog Fancy while at the vets office. A lovely Black and Tan bred by Sue Jackson (Suruca Kennel), of Indiana, started a quest to acquire such a beautiful animal from her. It was love again at first sight when Sue sold to us what was to be our first AKC Champion dog. We are drawn to the beauty and awe of pedigree animals. "English Toys are great , but they just don't show like a Cavalier". We were often in the show ring before or after the Cavaliers . The Cavaliers show with style whereas the English Toys are non-predictable.

We got our first Cavalier in 1994 and only breed Cavaliers now. The Cavaliers are the Cadillac of dogs and are almost without any fault , other than being addictive.  The Cavaliers are a new breed to AKC , and you have lot's of room in the standard to forge in your "own look." We look at our dogs as work in progress and our "JOVAN LOOK" is emerging. To breed  beauty, style and grace , you must have vision, a goal and a discerning eye. When you browse our photo gallery , you get a glimpse of our artists pallet. We are working with what are  the finest lines directly from the UK. They also are some of the longest lived and the healthiest. It has been our pleasure to combine the efforts of the Telvara Kennels and Pamedna Kennels. Both of the kennels have strong ties to Homerbrent and Salador lines. We value our continued relationship with these two fine kennels, and owe all we have achieved to date to them.
